Benefits of Blogging for Business

Today we're going to be talking about Benefits of blogging for business. I'm going to go through a few pointers and hopefully, this will answer a few basic questions for you so let's start

Benefits of a blog

It brings new content to your site on a regular basis as we all know Google loves the content and content is king so as long as you keep it up to date then that's going to be highly beneficial for you as well it helps to promote your business.

so the more you're talking about yourself the more you're getting your message out there more people are going to know about you.

Benefits of Blogging for Business

also, create helps to create internal links as well so if you're talking about a specific product that's within your range you can naturally link to that child page so obviously again the more you blog about your products the more you can link to them.

of course, it's good for local SEO as well. if you're targeting a specific location or an area that you're working in the more you talk about it the more it associates you with that location that's beneficial as well.

there are two obvious platforms that you can set your blog upon and that's WordPress and Blogger they're probably the most famous ones and there are others like Tumblr and Posterous but they're more for the more personal blog so you avoid those.

these two blogs can be integrated into your site which of course is beneficial to you it helps to add the new content to your site as well basic SEO plugins.

that you probably want to look at as well if you're going to be using any of these two blogs are the famous one is the all-in-one SEO which is for WordPress. that'll take title tags in your meta descriptions and all that sort of information.

for bloggers, you want to like title hack and automatic meta tags and again they sort out your title tags for you.

some SEO pointers, if you are going to install these sort of plugins and SEO, is going to be important to you make sure that your title tags a punchy to the point and they're beneficial they make people want to read your blog posts

meta descriptions again keep them quite short of 150 characters be to the point don't fill them full of keywords or anything like that get your message across making sure when you do a new blog post that you assign it to a category

so if anyone comes to your blog and they decide to do a search under a certain category they're going to find the relevant blog posts that go with that.

also, add the "read more"  tag as well now this is the tag where you can cut the first paragraph of your blog in half and you have to click the "read more" in order to read more of their information.

if you don't add anything like this then what you'll find is that on the homepage of your blog it loves the entire blog post their people can then basically take your content away

What should we be writing about

that a lot of people aren't comfy about when they start a blog they often ask me what should we be writing about and they ask for pointers along those areas.

there are no specific stats that go with this but I think this is a good way to look at how you should set your blogger and that is if you think that 15% of your blog posts should be industry-related 25 should be on company promotion and 25% should be looking at the company public.

now the way I've set it up like this is because if you did nothing but company promotion you're probably not going to attract as many people to your blog as you would if you included industry-related blog posts.

so if we look at industry-related blog posts these can be anything related to the sector that you're in gives you a chance to be a voice in the industry gives you a chance to talk about your opinions

if there's some news that's come out that's related to you-you can voice your opinion on that it can also start discussions and it can bring people in people can leave comments you can then start talking to them and you can build up relationships that way as well

company publicity well this should be more about what you're doing is a company if you're sponsoring events if you're helping out locally then blog about it.

So hopefully that's given you a basic insight as to how you should set up your blog the sort of things that you should be writing about the type of benefits that are going to give you and obviously we've done a few s yet pointers as well so in four let's answer a few basic questions for you.

How To Improve Click Through Rate

Today I'm going to talk to you about how to improve your click-through rate inside of Google this is a really important topic if you can take your click-through rate from 10 percent to 20 percent then you're going to be getting a lot more traffic on those individual impressions that come in,

What is a click-through rate

A click-through rate is how many times somebody clicks on something as after seeing it a certain amount of time.

if you have 100 impressions and you have a 2% click-through rate, that means out of the 100 people 2% of people clicked on it and that resulted in two visitors to your website.

The most important thing is what happens next you know does that person eventually turn into a conversion so it's important that you have a high click-through rate and then you also have a high conversion rate because that's how you run your online business

when we're looking at improving click-through rates one of the main ways you can do this and the most important thing is to first get a baseline,

if you go inside of Google search console,  Google search console has a report that's going to show you the pages that you have inside of Google and what the click-through rate is for those pages and what the keywords are that those pages are ranking for and how many times those keywords have been clicked on.

the most important thing is to look at the pages, look at the click-through rate for those pages and the keywords associated with those pages determine a baseline and then try to determine which pages have a really good click-through rate and then which pages have a really bad click-through rate.

Those ones that ever really good click-through rate take a look at and try to think why do these pages have such a great click-through rate and for the ones that have a really bad one put those into another bucket because those are going to be the ones that you're gonna want to improve.

once you know the ones that you're going to want to improve a great thing to do is look at your AdWord's ads, try to find out the ads that you have that have actually the best click-through rates on them.

take a look at those and then also take a look at the pages inside a Google search console that have the highest click-through rates.

try to figure out the similarities between the two and then look at the specific content that you have that isn't performing as well and develop a series of titles in descriptions that are going to be able to be showing up in Google.

actually, the title in the description is the things that are pulled from the code of your website that shows up on Google and try to determine how are you going to write better titles

write better descriptions so that you can put actually improve your click-through rate once you've done that and you've written the better titles and descriptions do a fetch as Googlebot

through Google search console that's gonna allow those to be get picked up that's gonna allow those to show up on Google and so you'll actually know that that content has been indexed and Google is able to actually test - you're actually able to see if the information about showing up in the Google search console click-through rate report is going to be valid for a test

once you have that in there keep in mind that Google search console is always has a little bit of a lag so it's gonna a couple take a couple days even once it gets indexed and starts showing up correctly to see whether or not the click-through rates have improved

you know that you have the right information in the index make sure you put an annotation inside of Google Analytics so that you can save that information and you're gonna want to keep an eye on it and look at your period over period report inside a Google search console.

once it's indexed you look at the click-through rates before and the click-through rates after it's best if you kind of run the report for a couple weeks you want to have at least a thousand or a couple thousand visitors worth of data on that to make sure that your results aren't skewed but if you see improvements on what you changed that's a really good indicator that you can take that and those changes that you made and roll them out to other titles and other descriptions on your website as well

another a couple important things to think about in regards to click-through rates is that many times titles and descriptions are written on websites on a template by template basis.

individual pages might have their own unique titles and descriptions but categories will have a template that's used on every single one of them so if that's the case making some changes to that template can have a dramatic impact on click-through rates for you throughout your entire section of that website

in many cases, this is done because you're using schema.org on the page and Google has determined that you have a high-quality website schema.org is just something that you put in the code of your website that gives Google a little bit more information about the page.

What is Google?

This is a search term we've found to be quite common. so I thought I'd give you some insight into who they are what they do and where they've come from.

What is Google?

Google is an American multinational corporation originally founded in 1996 by co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin.

What is Google?

Their initial aim was to organize the world's information in such a way as to make it both accessible and useful to everyone trying to use it.

there is also the sub-aim of not being evil this is reflected by the fact they had the words "Do not be evil" printed on their office wall.

it's also shown in the fairness and the way they lay out their search results with organic listings occupying the bulk of the page and colored backgrounds differentiating paid adverts from the organic listings.

Google originally was a search engine only they based everything else they've done all these other offerings of the success of their search algorithm which was so prevalent and successful it actually created a paradigm shift in the way that all other search engines measure the relevant authority of sites.

this has gone from original keyword density and keyword focused relevance on the page to a much more complex relationship between all the different websites linking to each other

one promoting another and so forth and this gave birth to the concepts of page rank which is a trademarked term by Google, but similar concepts existing in all other search algorithms nowadays and a very good measure of a website's authority.

So to give you a few stats on Google I mean that they're a massive company over a billion searches performed internationally every day and 24 petabytes of information generated by users on a daily basis as well which is about 24,000 terabytes a day

they have an estimated 1 million servers internationally in different data centers to process and store and manage this information.

they're the massive company so going from you know two people creating an algorithm in 1996 to in 2010 having revenues of the sort of 30 billion US dollars and total company assets of around 60 billion dollars.

but with fame and infamy come criticism and over the recent years, they have come under fire for a number of different areas of complaint such as a censorship copyrights and privacy being the most important to many of their users.

this is largely because of the lack of privacy provided by Gmail because of the behavior advertising there's integrated into their AdWords system and the way in which they advertise to people.

but they also come up against other corporate giants such as Microsoft and very recent times and Apple as well

I think the best measure of their success in terms of their sort of permeation of modern culture is really in the fact they've changed the meaning of the word Google.

they've changed it from its original mathematical definition of 100 over 1 or 1 with 100 zeros after it to in many cases of the verb as I'm sure what many people have heard the phrase "google it" as a way of referring to searching for something on the internet or finding something out.

I think this really shows their level of prevalence in our sort of modern society and culture

What is Bounce Rate

Today I'm talking to you about bounce rate. what it is? why you need to know about it and what you can do to improve it.

this Article is going to be beneficial for anybody involved in the website, including web developers, SEO(Search Engine Optimization), PPC (Pay Per Click), Email marketing, copywriting, and conversion rate optimization.

What is bounce rate?

What is Bounce Rate

For example:

Take two users to your website, the first user comes along to your site, they didn't like it. they left straightaway

the second user visits a page of your site. they have a look at another page. that means they've stuck. they've not bounced from your site.

so here we have two users one bounced, once stuck. this means you've got a 50% bounce rate.

What is a normal bounce rate?

Well, actually over 50% it's probably a bit high. but anything under 50% is okay. under 40% you're doing well. but different pages have different bounce rates. so a blog page, people won't find it via social media.

they'll click a Twitter link, come to the page they won't be interested in any of your other blog page pages necessarily at that moment in time. they only want to read that post so they're likely to have a much higher bounce rate than another page of normal content.

now one example of this is a product page on an e-commerce site. if somebody does an organic search for it, clicks the result, they see a product well it might not be the right product they might want to compare to other products.

what they'll do is they'll click so you get a low bounce rate on product pages you need kind of an e-commerce site.

What else can you do with bounce rate statistics

it's good to compare it to the average time on site. it's this user here who bounces has spent five minutes on the site before leaving you're doing quite well.

if the user has come to your page and after only two seconds they've gone on to another page you know that actually even though you've got a low bounce rate with the average time on the page being very low it may not be the right page.

you could adjust your PPC campaign you can promote a different page organically. you could pick a different link for your email marketing campaign once you know what your bounce rate is and what the average time on site is on the page.

how can you improve your bounce rate

There are several different things with a product page, it would be good to have a list of related products so that somebody can easily see what other products are available

and which other pages they should go to you can also use a breadcrumb that easily shows the category in which that product was so that somebody can just go up a level in the site and see all the options available.

when you've got a blog post if you want other people to read other pages of your site, it's a good idea to add related blog post links, categories, maybe a link to the writers Twitter profile those sort of things mean that actually, your user will interact a bit more with your site.

Complete Blogger SEO Tutorials

obviously, if they click a Twitter link that will take them off the site and your bounce rate would still be high but actually, they're going somewhere beneficial so sometimes it's good.

So hopefully that explains to you what bounce rate is if you need any more information I've written a blog post on it as well.

How to Become a Web Developer

Today I'm Talking about how to become a web developer so I've been developing websites since 2012 and I've worked with many different languages over the years on many different types of projects.

The way to become a master web developer So let's Start

How to Become a Web Developer

1. Stick to one language and master that language

That's a very important point instead of jumping around learning a little bit of Ruby a little bit of Python a little bit of this a little bit of that what you want to do is you want to pick a particular technology whichever ones you prefer and then really understand it well and start building projects with it

How to Become a Web Designer

so if you were to pick PHP for example then learn your basics learn your object-oriented programming in PHP and then pick a PHP framework,

Larry Bell is the most prominent import an important one but really any MVC framework that's up to date is a good choice

2. Learn the Langauge Well

You want to get deeper into the logic of programming and into the nuts and bolts of the language to learn how to use your particular language in an advanced way

so for instance with PHP you might want to get into anonymous inner functions get into recursion not only knowing what these are and how to do it but knowing when you'd want to use these patterns of coding if you will and as I mentioned just a few moments ago

3. Build Real Projects

A big thing is to build real projects you learn much more by actually building real things rather than just doing a bunch of tutorials so dive deep into real projects continue to spend some time on the side looking

Tricks to becoming Web Developer

and exploring at more advanced ways to approach coding and stick to it until you become really advanced because the danger is to start spreading your self too thin and starting to learn 3, 4 0r 5 different frameworks or languages at the same time

you're going to have to mix it up when you're programming you always go to you know especially in web development you're typically going to be using at least Four languages

HTML
CSS
JavaScript

for sure those are three you for sure you're going to use and then after that for server-side programming you might be doing

PHP  you might be doing Ruby may be doing Python you might be doing Java there are other options as well

if you don't know what server-side programming is you should do my beginner's HTML course

How To Create A Website Popup

Today I'm gonna talk to you about how to create a good pop-up for Website. actually used to be really against pop-ups.

but then after I saw the power of them and after I increased conversions on our own website over 30 percent as a result of using them and really use pop-ups to monetize our blog to drive a lot more leads and then we rolled that service out to a whole bunch of clients some over a year ago.

I got really into it I know a ton about pop-ups I actually really liked them but only if you use them in the correct way. and that is what I'm going to talk to you about today.

What is a pop-up

A pop up is something that shows up on your website. it usually takes up a small amount of the page, and it asks the user to do something. to sign up for a newsletter, to fill out a lead form to you know to
sign up for a webinar anything you want.

How To Create A Website Popup

there's a lot of different ways that you can introduce to pop up on the weblog. you can set it so that it fires after a certain amount of time.

So you have time duration it can be one second, two seconds, ten seconds I usually like to fire the pop-ups based off of the time of the site, on how much people take spend time on your website, and you can get that data from Google Analytics.

That's one option you can also do it when they scroll down the page you can have it fire based off
of the percentage of the page that they've scrolled down, you can have it come in from a variety of different areas lower on the page, side of the page, top of the page.

There are full-page takeover pop-ups there are pop-ups that show up at the top a bar pop-up you name it. there are options for how you want to deliver the pop-up.

and that's important because each one of them has different implications as far as how it affects the user if it's a big pop-up that comes in and kind of takes over the whole page,

people usually get pretty upset, if you have a smaller pop-up that comes in after a couple seconds and it's not super evasive, you'll generally see that people read that, and then if you have the scroll down pop-up that comes up from the bottom after somebody's scroll down the page a certain percent that generally doesn't really annoy people too much at all.

That's the Least evasive one and you'll see a lot of success with all of them but you got to know the subtleties so let's start talking about that now

How to Create A Website Popup

Every website has different segments.you've got different segments of your website. you have different pages of your website, certain pages are more popular than others. each page each your website has a specific intent you created that page for a reason.

a lot of people do is they make the mistake of creating a general pop-up that they just fire on all of their pages when that's the case you're usually only going to see a click-through rate or an email entry rate on those pop-ups between you know half a percent and maybe two percent or something like that.

That's really not an ideal interaction level so if you really want to be sophisticated with pop-ups it's not really a best practice just to go generally

I mean sure every once in a while you can and you can if you have something big you want to promote you want to get in front of all your traffic that's fine

How To Do Keyword Research

I've done that before but really the best way to do it is to look at your top landing pages and look at that report and then create pop-ups by individual landing page, that are specific to the goal that you want to accomplish on that page.

let's take that a step further, do you want to have a goal that's a hard goal meaning hard will or a macro goal like asking them for a lead or do you want to maybe fire a pop-up and then push them into something that's a little bit more subtle.

like a quiz that you've created or just ask for their email address, these are things you want to think about because the percentage of interaction that you have there is going to be a direct result of the ask and how much the ask kind of impacts the user and takes them out of their current environment.

Make individual landing pages for every single Popup

best case you're creating pop-ups based off of the individual landing pages for every single one, you can't always do that though so what happens is when you when it's too tedious it's better to just do your top twenty landing pages or so split test those refine those over time,

and then create segments for the top sections of your website and with those segments, you can fire pop-ups on those individual areas

another thing that's interesting about pop-ups is you can detect how the user came in, and fire pop-ups as a result of that,  you can fire pop-ups to people that come in from Google, from people that come in from Facebook, from people that come in from Bing.

so you can do it by traffic source medium you can do it by the device you can do it by location so if you really want to get sophisticated you could look at your top landing page and just fire two people from the US who came in from a referral site that you're advertising on,

What is a 404 Error

so think how cool and integrated that gets and think how much time you can spend on it but that level of sophistication is what makes your interaction rate on the pop-up go from half a percent to 10,20 percent and really increase those leads so it's exciting stuff and think about those own those implications for your own business.

So the final piece of the pie for the pop-up is the creative and that's really the most important point you know is it just a basic question that pops up and then asks them it asks them to get into another series of questions is it a full-ask that comes out and says you know to sign up for our site right away

you know I've run one recently it's a picture of me it kind of tells how we can help the person that's performed very well but the creative is something you always have to be testing the images that copy most pop-up systems are gonna allow you to split test

the creative that you have and then determine the traffic percentage that you want to be pushing
to each piece of creative so always run tests never just run one I've always got a test going and we picked the winner and then we refine that and that's allowed us to maximize conversion significantly for clients and for ourselves.
